Southern 630 & 4501 Doubleheader - 630's Summerville Send-Off [4K]

On November 2nd, 2025, I would pick up my good friend ‪@TrainNut85‬ from his place and head down to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum for a special, yet somber, occasion. It was the day of the final Summerville Steam Special doubleheader of the season, and possibly the last one for a while... It was Southern 630's final day of operation before going down for its mandatory 1,472 day tear-down and rebuild. With that being the case, there were LOADS of railfans from all over the country here on this day, including my other good buddies, ‪@chendersonrailproductions704‬, Bison Rail Photography, ‪@DroppedSignal‬, ‪@consolidationproductions‬, ‪@southwestlimited‬, ‪@kilroy_was_here1‬, ‪@SouthernRaiIs1186‬, ‪@DelayInBlockProductions‬, ‪@ILG611‬, and many others. What makes the occasion a bit more nostalgic is that 630 is wearing the same whistle it wore after it was restored in 2011, the Virginia & Southwestern long-bell 3-chime. A fitting voice for its last day running with a fire in the firebox. After we caught the train departing Grand Junction, we would begin our chase. Due to the high possibility of larger-than-normal crowds of railfans at the usual popular spots, many of us opted for more obscure angles and locations. With that, I think it's safe to say we were quite successful in documenting the spectacle. While this may be a temporary end for 630, I'm hoping it won't be too long before we see the old Consolidation back again in the near future. I hope y'all enjoy!
