Borno Abductions: Tinubu Tasks Security Agencies With Rescue Mission

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured the Borno State Government that security agencies will take necessary measures to secure the release of schoolchildren abducted in Askira-Uba Local Government Area. Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, disclosed this after meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to discuss the security situation in the state. According to reports, the abductions in Mussa and other communities were among the issues raised during the meeting. The President reportedly assured the governor that the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Office of the National Security Adviser would work towards rescuing the children. The pupils remain the focus of ongoing efforts to reunite them with their families. Governor Zulum also said the security situation in Borno had largely improved, highlighting his administration’s efforts to resettle internally displaced persons. He stated that more than two million people had returned to their communities across the state as reconstruction and recovery efforts continue. The governor further disclosed that efforts were under way to reopen the Maiduguri–Biu–Damboa road, while about 1,000 forest guards had reportedly been trained to support military operations in areas affected by security challenges. On economic development, Zulum indicated that oil exploration activities could resume in parts of the North-East. The Federal Government recently announced the revival of exploration at the Kolmani wells, while the governor has called for work on Borno’s own oil fields to be revived. The discussions highlight the interconnected challenges of security, the safe return of abducted children, the resettlement of displaced families, infrastructure restoration and economic recovery in Borno State. #BornoState #Tinubu #BabaganaZulum #AbductedSchoolchildren #NigeriaSecurity #OilExploration #NTA Live News Broadcast from the Nigerian Television Authority Abuja, Nigeria For more updates from NTA, visit: Website: http://www.nta.ng/ Twitter:   / ntanewsnow   Facebook:   / ntanetworknews   Email: enquiries@nta.ng To license this and other NTA content, please email: licensing@nta.ng, info@nta.ng Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for updates on live streams!
