Session 1 - Origins and a Faulty Cosmology

The theme of this five-part series is “What is Success Motivation Theology (SMT)? Where did it begin, and what does it offer? Although many popular SMT teachers are thought of as Christians, its underlying view of the universe is an impersonal system of metaphysical laws rather than the personal, sovereign God of Scripture. It has a different view of God, man, sin and life’s goals. Some very famous names are associated with it like New Thought Founder - Phineas Quimby, Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Norman Vincent Peale, Rhonda Byrne, Anthony (Tony) Robbins, and others.” Session 1 — Origins and a Faulty Cosmology - We begin with the historical roots of teaching and its underlying view of the universe — an impersonal system of metaphysical laws rather than the personal, sovereign God of Scripture.
