The Historic Ridgeway Project seeks to bring people together to interpret and conserve important archaeological sites and features along The Ridgeway National Trail in Oxfordshire and West Berkshire – between Ashbury and Wallingford. In this fifth lecture in the Historic Ridgeway series, Richard Oram takes us on a journey through the landscape of this ancient trackway, that continues to provide access and remains one of the best ways to appreciate this unique landscape. It is not an isolated feature however, despite being a relatively static route within an evolving cultural landscape. This lecture is supported by the North Wessex Downs National Landscape.
