Hawaiian Soul (documentary)

I'm so happy to announce that Hawaiian Soul, produced in 1987, has been selected by 'Ulu'Ulu Film and Video Archive at UHWO, for inclusion in a national archivists exhibit honoring the 250th Anniversary of the USA. Of all the items in their collection, Hawaiian Soul was chosen to best represent one of the categories, "Unfinished Revolutions." I consider this a high honor and give big mahalos to 'Ulu"Ulu for this consideration. Produced by VKP in 1987, the official "Year of the Hawaiian" in Hawai'i. Poses the question, what does it mean to be Hawaiian in Hawai'i today? Pursues issue of cultural and personal identity among a group of artists, farmers, activists, poets, musicians, and homesteaders. Shot on Maui, Moloka'i, Kaua'i, Hawai'i Island and O'ahu, Hawai'i.
