Still Gonna Be Missed (We Got Their Music And Their Memories) - Original Tribute to Dolly Parton 1946-2026 Dolly Parton passed peacefully on August 25, 2026 in Nashville at age 80 after a brief battle with cancer. This song is for her, and for all the good ones - Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams Sr., Waylon Jennings, Conway Twitty and George Jones. We got their music and their memories, but they're still gonna be missed. I tried to get it recorded in Nashville. But they said it was too long to pitch. I wanted real voices and not A.I. but since that didn't happen. I'm releasing my Demo of it which I had to use Suno to create. Not cut in Nashville. Cut with an E9 weeping pedal steel and a clean Telecaster the way they used to. Written and produced by Charles Saylors - Mena, Arkansas LYRICS - Still Gonna Be Missed (We Got Their Music And Their Memories): [Intro - 8 Bar Pedal Steel Solo, Slow Weeping E9 Swell, Lonesome] [Verse 1] Loretta was a coal miner's daughter, tellin' it straight, Sang for every momma workin' late. Patsy was walkin' after midnight all alone, Crazy for love in a blue, blue tone. [Verse 2] Ole Hank Sr. sang that lonesome whippoorwill, He's still the reason that old radio gives me chills. And Waylon Jennings told Nashville he would not bend, Outlaw till the highway finally came to an end. [Instrumental Break - 8 Bar Pedal Steel Solo - Soft, Crying, Doubling Vocal Melody] [Chorus] Most of the good ones are gone, They will be missed, but their music lives on. From an AM dial to a Tennessee stage, We got their music and their memories, But they're still gonna be missed. [Instrumental Break - 8 Bar Electric Guitar Solo - Clean Telecaster Chicken Pickin, Waylon Style, Low Strings] [Verse 3] Conway came in rock and rollin', young and wild, It's Only Make Believe with that rebel smile. Then he went country, velvet on steel, Hello Darlin', Lord, you know that one was real. [Instrumental Break - 8 Bar Duel - 4 Bars Overdriven Electric Guitar Bend and Snarl, Then 4 Bars Pedal Steel Answering and Crying] [Verse 4] No one broke a heart like George Jones could do, When he sang He Stopped Lovin' Her Today we all knew it was true. [Instrumental Break - 12 Bar Pedal Steel Solo - Play The Melody of He Stopped Lovin Her Today, The Big Possum Weeper] Then he'd pour that White Lightnin' and make us all laugh, Possum sang the whole life, first to the last. [Instrumental Break - 8 Bar Electric Guitar Solo - Fast Funny Honky-Tonk Lick] [Verse 5 - For Dolly] And Dolly, she was the coat of many colors, Sang for the least of us when there was no others. Jolene, I Will Always Love You, 9 to 5, She taught the world how to dream and how to survive. From a one-room cabin to the Heavens above, She left us all covered in rhinestones and love. [Instrumental Break - 8 Bar Pedal Steel Solo - High, Angelic, Pure, Like A Choir] [Final Chorus] Most of the good ones are gone, Loretta and Patsy and Hank, Waylon, Conway and Jones. And yesterday Heaven called Dolly home, They will be missed, But we got their music and their memories, Yes, we got their music and their memories, But they're still gonna be missed. But they're still gonna be missed. [Outro - 16 Bar Extended Duel - 8 Bars Electric Guitar, 8 Bars Pedal Steel, Call and Response, Fade on Steel Like An Old Radio Turning Off] Official Title: Still Gonna Be Missed (We Got Their Music And Their Memories) #stillgonnabemissed #dollyparton #dollypartontribute #wegottheirmusicandmemories #classiccountrymusic #originalcountrysong #pedalsteel #countrymusictribute #outlawcountry #georgejones #waylonjennings #lorettalynn
