Unlike conventional vegetarian offerings, two famous puja pandals in Cuttack serve a special fish offering to Goddess Durga: Chandini Chowk & Alisha Bazar Pandals: A distinct ritual where fish curry mixed with assorted vegetables (Ghanta Tarakari), Kanika (sweet rice), and Khatta (sweet-sour chutney) are offered to the Mother Goddess. 8 Quintals of Fish Offered: Around 4 quintals of fish at each pandal—totaling 8 quintals—are cooked and prepared as special Prasad. Grand Prasad Distribution: Elaborate arrangements are made to distribute this divine Prasad among nearly 6,000 eager devotees who queue up with deep faith and enthusiasm. Cultural Heritage: Worshipping Goddess Durga with fish offering on Maha Nabami is not just a ritual, but an integral part of Cuttack's rich socio-cultural and religious heritage. #CuttackDurgaPuja #MahaNabami #FishBhog #CuttackTraditions #DurgaPuja2026 #ChandiniChowk #AlishaBazar #OdishaCulture #OdishaNews #News18Odia #OdiaNews #odishanews #oriyanews #breakingnews #weathernews News18 Odia is one of Odisha's leading and most trusted Odia news channels, bringing you the latest, fastest, and most reliable news from Odisha, India, and around the world.
