NOW / THEN: "Nadjenka" /// Years 1992 & 2020 /// Stefan Stanciu, Pan flute

For me, 30 years have now passed on the music stages. This video was published in 1992 on Finnish TV. This video clip is from a live concert in Tampere Music Hall. This clip is mixed and edited with live audio and album audio. Here I am a 10-year-old kid with a brand new alto pan flute, an instrument made by Ion Cretu, a Romanian pan flute builder from the city of Ploiesti. The older version of me is also playing with Cretu's pan flute, but that one is bigger and is called the Bass Pan flute. These pan flutes are more than 25 years old. In this YouTube video, I improvise on the melody played by the 10-years-old Stefan. 😀 This clip is the second YouTube video in the series of "NOW/THEN". Hope you enjoy these retro videos and stay tuned. 🎶🎵🎶 This song is made by a German composer/ big band leader James Last (1929-2015). He composed two pieces for pan flute & big band: the famous "The Lonely Shepherd" and "Nadjenka". Both of them were composed for a Romanian pan flutist, Gheorghe Zamfir. Nadjenka is unfortunately played much rarely, but in my childhood, it was one of my favorite tunes and I played it often in my concerts. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WWW.STEFAN.FI
