Crossing Europe Day 3 The Grimaldi ferry Cruise Roma from Barcelona to Civitavecchia (Rome) - Italy A cruise ship this is not! Not quite as bad as some of the reviews I read. Booked all 4 berths in a cabin so had a cabin to myself, done enough sharing rooms on this trip. There is only one elevator on this ferry with no way of knowing where it is! Very basic. The food was very expensive rubbish I had pre-purchase on board credit for food so ate what they were offering. I now know why people bring there own food onboard. The buffet has a very small selection of warm food and you have to pay $$$ for each small item. $20 for a small plastic container of Chicken salad with 3 tiny bits of chicken and nearly all lettuce. Enough of the negative.  Went out on deck 7 and the outside door handle breaking on me was a bit of fun. Anyway the ocean was calm and the sunrise and sunsets were nice. Arrived in Civitavecchia the next evening. I was aware there was a complementary bus to take you to the port exit but it was a very confusing exit from the ferry into the port srea with no one seemingly knowing what to do. Italians included! No one around to ask we all walked quite a long way until we came upon a bus. On the bright side the bus took us all the way into Civitavecchia and it was only a short walk to my accommodation. Another 858 km done. Distance 2083 km
