The fourth edition of the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) began Friday at the India Expo Centre and Mart, inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The five-day event, themed "Ultimate Sourcing Begins Here," will run until September 29 and aims to connect the state's entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and exporters directly with the global market. Briefing the media, UP MSME Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary said the initiative aims to establish Uttar Pradesh as a global sourcing hub, noting the state is home to over 96 lakh MSME units. The show is expected to see participation from more than 2,400 exhibitors, 1.5 lakh B2B buyers, and over 4.5 lakh general visitors, along with more than 550 international buyers from 85 countries. Partner countries for this edition include Austria, Japan, Russia, Singapore, Belarus, and Vietnam. Around 300 women representatives are set to take part, reflecting the growing role of women in trade and industry. The exhibition will span sectors including agriculture, automobiles, defence, IT, health, tourism, and renewable energy. A key highlight this year is the "One District, One Cuisine" initiative, running alongside the existing "One District, One Product" scheme to showcase the state's culinary heritage.
