How to forge a coat rack from scratch - hand forged steel hooks on an oak board, built for my own forge. A simple blacksmithing project you can copy with basic stock. 🔨 No pattern for this one, but I take custom orders on forged pieces: redsmithleatherwork@gmail.com 🛠️ HOW IT WAS MADE I needed a coat rack for my little smithy, so I made one out of oak, 30x5mm flat bar and 10x10mm square bar. The hooks are drawn out and bent hot at the forge, the flat bar carries them, and the whole thing is mounted on the oak board. The wood is finished with linseed oil - my camera failed me exactly at that moment, but any finish would do the job. The steel parts got a coat of sprayed lacquer to keep moisture and rust away.
