Watching Casper play live has always filled me with awe, but I never did capture it in a way I felt conveyed the power of his voice, writing and playing. Here we just might have bottled lighting, though. Everyone has something to say about face tattoos, some preconceived notion of what they say about a person or how they're going to be. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why Casper has them - he likes to defy convention, go against the grain. Talking to him you would quickly find he's nothing like you'd imagine at first glance - personable, charismatic, intelligent and full of stories. This song is one of the first ones I heard of Casper's, on a low-fi bandcamp album he'd put out. He'd sent it to me the first time we spoke, online, and the power of the writing shined through even then. It's what sparked my interest in finding Casper, and meeting in New Tazewell all those months ago. Then I went to New Orleans upon his invite, and discovered a whole bunch of talented folks down there. So it's just one of those serendipitous moments, where the passion for music really brings folks together.
