Songwriter Reacts to Disturbed's Sound of Silence | Raw Intensity Breakdown

🎤 Disturbed’s legendary cover of The Sound of Silence is one of the most haunting, powerful performances of the last decade — and it completely floored me. In this video, I give my vocal coach reaction and analysis of David Draiman’s unforgettable performance — the depth, control, and sheer passion behind every phrase. From the whisper-like opening to the “angry preacher” intensity of the climax, this cover transforms the song into something entirely new. As an award-winning songwriter, Grammy voting member, and vocal coach, I’ll break down: How Draiman uses breath, resonance, and dynamics to build tension. Why his delivery feels like a sermon — fierce, emotional, and unstoppable. What makes Disturbed’s version so different from Simon & Garfunkel’s original. 💭 What’s YOUR favourite version of The Sound of Silence?
