Manila Zoo underwent a major redevelopment beginning in 2020 and reopened to the public in 2022. Today, the zoo has modernized facilities, renovated animal enclosures, botanical areas, an aviary, a butterfly garden, and other attractions. But has the new Manila Zoo really made a difference? Coming from the province, I remember visiting Manila Zoo during school field trips and occasional family trips whenever we were in Manila. So this visit was also a bit of a trip down memory lane, especially seeing how different the zoo looks today. In this walking tour, we’ll explore the animals, enclosures, facilities, botanical garden, and other areas of Manila Zoo, while I share my honest thoughts on what’s improved and what I think could still be better.
