Rheingold, Reines Gold

The Rhinemaidens Woglinde, Wellgunde and Flosshilde guard the Rhinegold in the green depths of the river, until the Nibelung Alberich renounces love, tears the gold from its rock and forges the ring. As the gods parade over the rainbow bridge into Valhalla, the maidens' lament rises from the river: "Rheingold! Rheingold! Reines Gold!" A music video after Richard Wagner's Das Rheingold (the prologue to Der Ring des Nibelungen), from the Prelude's first wave to the twilight of the gods.
