The Lost Desert: Djadochta Formation Dinosaurs | Path of Titans Documentary

Step into the Lost Desert - the ancient world of the Djadochta Formation in Late Cretaceous Mongolia. In this harsh desert landscape, dinosaurs struggle to survive among shifting dunes, rocky plains, scattered vegetation, water, and powerful sandstorms. From strange calls and unusual feeding habits to sheltering from the storm and crossing vast stretches of desert, this documentary explores a small part of the remarkable ecosystem that once existed in the Gobi. The Lost Desert is a formation-focused reconstruction inspired by the fossil record and palaeontological research on the Djadochta Formation. All animals, environments and behaviours are reconstructed interpretations based on available palaeontological evidence. Some behaviours are speculative where the fossil record does not provide a definitive answer. Dedicated in memory of Zofia Kielan-Jaworowska, Halszka Osmólska and Teresa Maryańska, whose pioneering work helped reveal the prehistoric world of the Mongolian Gobi. Made in Path of Titans. Dinosaurs featured: Pinacosaurus, Bagaceratops, Goyocephale, Citipati, Oviraptor, Velociraptor and Quesitosaurus. This was edited by two people, and most of the characters were also acted by us!
