About the Designer Andrew MacKenzie was a Welsh-born fashion designer (Llanelli, 1954) who became one of the most original voices in Italian menswear. After training at the London College of Fashion and starting his career with the legendary Bill Gibb in 1976, he worked in New York and Paris before settling in Italy in 1982. He collaborated with iconic brands including Katharine Hamnett Jeanswear, Calvin Klein Jeans, Ferré Jeans, Converse, Adriano Goldschmied and Fiorucci. In Spring/Summer 1998 he launched his own label AMK – Andrew MacKenzie, pioneering what the press called 'new denim couture.' His Milan runway shows became unmissable events during men's fashion week, celebrated for their bold, rebellious and provocative aesthetic.
