🏛️ Step beyond Main Street with Jen and Glen Unscripted as we visit Carnton and Eastern Flank Battlefield Park in Franklin, Tennessee. 📜 Built in 1826, Carnton was the McGavock family home before becoming the area's largest field hospital during the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864. Hundreds of wounded Confederate soldiers were brought to the house and grounds. 🌿 We take in this historic setting and share the story of John and Carrie McGavock, who set aside land in 1866 for nearly 1,500 Confederate soldiers. Their family burial ground lies beside the soldiers' cemetery—another connection between the home, the family and the history preserved here. 🎬 This is our second Franklin movie! Pair it with our downtown Franklin walk for the shops, streets and local discoveries that made up the other side of our visit. More on-location adventures are ahead. 🗺️ 💬 Have you visited Carnton?
