"Wireless Lizzie"- A 1926 Driverless Car Silent Comedy | 16mm Film Scan

A somewhat-restored version of "wireless lizzie", a fun comedy from 1926 about a 'driverless' car! Musical soundtrack added, compiled from period music. Performed all sorts of corrections to help improve the presentation. The version we have was butchered for some 1960s re-release, with inter-titles removed and cheesy narration that changed names of characters and aspects of the story. So, referring to an existing low-resolution transfer online, I re-created the title cards and matching stick-figure drawings, adding film effects to help it blend with the footage. I also created a few more cards from scratch where it felt like they fit. Existing transfer is a different cut-down as it had a couple of shots that were missing from our version; though our version had a couple that were missing from that one! I think that existing one is likely the Kodascope Libraries version. The original complete film would have been longer. Reviews from the press sheet mention it being two reels and a "half hour of fun"; so likely was close to 2 full reels (2000 ft) of 35mm film. Press sheet- https://www.loc.gov/resource/cdmmi.s1...
