2025-04-05 | Deschutes River | Maupin, Oregon, USA

Fly fishing day trip to the Lower Deschutes River near Maupin, Oregon, USA. After a nice breakfast at Bette's Place restaurant in Hood River, we travel to the Deschutes River to fly fish using Euro-nymphing and strike indicator nymphing technique. The river was still few feet higher than normal however the weather is beautiful reaching a day high of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, light cloud cover and almost no wind. Tally of the day is one mountain whitefish (Prosopium williamsoni) on a 3.8mm, size 16 rainbow perdigon fly and few missed bites. Thank you for watching!
