Located in the state of Washington, Whidbey is connected to Fidalgo Island by a dramatic bridge across Deception Pass (not the best place to walk if you’re afraid of heights). From Fidalgo, you cross another bridge to get to the mainland. I’ve spent massive amounts of time exploring these islands since I lived out here for four years. It’s a bit remote, but you can’t beat the quiet. Except, of course, when they start up the fighter jets at NAS Whidbey and the outlying field (OLF) near Coupeville. This place is all about the water. If you’re looking for stunning islands, jaw-dropping water views in every direction, and a laid back atmosphere, you’ve come to the right place. “Whidbey” can be used as a visual meditation, to help you relax, relieve stress, focus better when you study, get deeper sleep, create natural white noise, or simply as a way to connect with nature.
