What People Get Wrong About Insulation (And How to Get It Right)

Getting insulation right starts before installation. In this video, I share an insulation contractor’s perspective on common mistakes in new construction and existing homes—and how better planning can help avoid them. I cover vented versus unvented vaulted ceilings, rigid insulation and other insulation options, attic ventilation mistakes, and why architects, builders, and the trades should involve an insulation contractor during the design phase. I also discuss retrofitting existing homes, including a real-world case study showing how these decisions come together. Whether you’re a homeowner planning an upgrade or a contractor designing your next project, this discussion will help you ask better questions before the work begins.
