Imagine stepping onto a Mars-like landscape surrounded by brilliant red rocks, ancient pueblos, and scorching high-desert heat! 🌋 Hundreds of years ago, this remarkable landscape was home to thriving communities and important trade networks. Ancestors of today's Hopi, Zuni, and other Indigenous peoples built incredible multi-room pueblos here, with communities flourishing following the nearby Sunset Crater volcanic eruption. But let me tell you something... Arizona's sun does NOT play! 🥵☀️ After spending nearly 1½ hours exploring in that blazing heat, I discovered that melanin is NOT a substitute for sunscreen! 😂 And as if the heat wasn't enough, even the local wildlife decided to give me a little unexpected excitement! Between dodging wildlife, battling the Arizona sun, and discovering centuries-old architecture, this adventure turned into one I'll never forget!
