Digital twins for safer roads | Joint workshop: iDriving · EvoRoads · CAMBER (23 Sep 2026)

Full recording of the joint online workshop “Innovative digital twin solutions for enhanced Road Asset & Safety Management”, held on 23 September 2026 by three EU-funded Horizon Europe projects: iDriving, EvoRoads and CAMBER. Road infrastructure digital twins, fed with data from multiple sensing technologies, make it possible to measure safety criteria as conditions change and to support automated diagnosis and forecasting for road maintenance. In this workshop, the three projects present their approaches, tools and data sources side by side: ▶ iDriving – Thomas Bapaume (Université Gustave Eiffel): digital twin implementation from detection to safety alerts and maintenance planning, with examples from the Graz pilot. ▶ EvoRoads – Federico Princiotto (LINKS Foundation): a smart mobility digital twin and its use in the Turin pilot, with data from roadside sensors. ▶ CAMBER – Bernard Kosovec (Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb): testing low-cost road-marking interventions in a driving simulator before real-world implementation.
