Today, I met this little boy on the road, and the innocence on his face was impossible to miss. As soon as I saw him, I asked him, “What are you doing here?” He replied, “I’m selling papad.” So I told him, “Give me all of them.” But very innocently, he said, “I have to take some of these home to Gojra. I came here to Faisalabad from Gojra.” I was quite surprised, so I asked him, “Why are you doing this? Where is your father?” He told me that his father had been in Oman, where someone had allegedly deceived him, drugs were placed in his room, and the police arrested him. He said his father was sentenced to ten years in prison, and it has been one year so far. Looking at the innocence of this child, it honestly felt like he was not making any of this up. I called his mother and asked her about the whole situation. After speaking to her, I helped the child a little, gave him money for his travel expenses, and some additional money as well, and sent him back home. And InshaAllah, in a few days, we will also visit their home in Gojra and try to help this family as much as we can.
