The Kremlin's Silent Gatekeeper – The Man Who Saw Every Soviet Secret

For close to thirty years, Alexander Poskrebyshev controlled access to Stalin's desk. He handled the paperwork at the summit of Soviet power and decided who could reach the man behind the door. Yet when his own wife's life was at stake, his appeals failed. Bronislava Metallikova was shot in the autumn of 1941. How did a shoemaker's son from Vyatka province become Stalin's gatekeeper? This documentary traces Poskrebyshev's beginnings: his training as a feldsher, his decision to join the Bolsheviks in 1917, and the demanding administrative work of the Civil War years. His rise reveals how precision, memory, and quiet reliability could carry a provincial functionary toward the center of Soviet power—and how little that proximity could guarantee. #SovietHistory #USSR #HistoryDocumentary #RussianHistory #Stalin #AlexanderPoskrebyshev #Poskrebyshev #Kremlin #Bolsheviks #BronislavaMetallikova
