Widerøe was the first airline to operate the Embraer E2 family of aircraft in April 2018 and currently operates three E190-E2s. Join me on this flight from Bergen to Florence, on what would be my first occasion flying on one of Widerøe's E2s! But first, a quick hop from Sandefjord-Torp to Bergen on board one of its Dash 8-Q400s. Overall a satisfactory trip for the most part, which included on-time flights, friendly crews and a tasty meal on the second flight. I was also very impressed by the amount of legroom at seat 2A on the E190-E2, and the inflight entertainment system was a nice touch as well - not to mention the impressive selection of languages it was available in! Additionally, despite the Q400 used for the first flight not being such a massive aircraft, I didn't have to gate-check my large carry-on bag. With that said, there were certain things about Widerøe on this trip which I wasn't too happy about - let's start off with the fact that they seemingly charge passengers to change their pre-paid seat before check-in, even when the new seat is in the same or a cheaper category. Secondly, there was a lack of transparency regarding the price of seat 2A on the second flight, and although it said it would cost 100 NOK (approx. 8.50€) at one point, I was actually charged 250 NOK (approx. 21€) in the end. And thirdly, the fact that Widerøe has started charging for coffee & tea is something I find really stingy. Although Widerøe may have been acquired by Norwegian Air Shuttle, it's not a low-cost airline - in fact, it often charges high prices for its tickets (as was the case today), so a cup of coffee or tea really shouldn't be too much to ask for. While I'm into it, I should also mention that whereas the crews on both flights were friendly and chatty, Widerøe's gate agents were downright grumpy and nasty (especially those in Bergen). Needless to say, while there are several things Widerøe is doing right, there are definitely some that they should work on. Without further ado; sit back, relax, and enjoy the video! ----- Date: Saturday, September 27, 2025 Ticket price: 3073 NOK (approx. 258€), O/W, "Mini" fare (including a large carry-on bag, not including seat reservation) ----- Camera used: iPhone 16 Pro ----- Flight details: WF418 TRF-BGO Aircraft info: *Type: Bombardier Dash 8-Q402 *Registration: LN-WDG *Engines: 2x PWC PW150A *Construction number: 4266 *First flight: 2009 (exact date unknown) *Delivered: August 31, 2009 *Aircraft name: Bodø *Configuration: Y78 *My seat: 9A (source: https://www.planespotters.net/airfram...)
