In the grasslands of Boramani, Maharashtra, archaeologists identified a remarkable stone labyrinth made of 15 concentric circuits and measuring about 50 feet across.
Dating to around 2,000 years ago and associated with the Satavahana-era landscape, the structure has drawn attention because of its resemblance to ancient labyrinth designs found in the Mediterranean world.
But was it actually connected to Roman merchants?
This documentary explores the Boramani labyrinth, ancient trade routes across the Deccan, the Satavahana period, and the archaeological evidence for trade between India and the Roman world.
The Roman connection remains a theory, not a proven fact. We examine what the evidence can tell us—and what remains unanswered.
