The song was released in 1985. The singer rejects the idea of becoming a self-sacrificing or submissive woman who suffers for love. The repeated line “I’ll never be Maria Magdalena” is therefore a declaration of independence: she may be in love, but she refuses to lose herself in the process. The original low end is primarily a synth-driven production: compact, repetitive, tightly synchronized with the drum machine. Bass used: Fender American Elite Jazz Bass V Recorded with Garageband and OBS Studio powered by Presonus Studio 68c. The sound chain includes Boss OC-5 Octaver, Empress Compressor, Sonic Maximizer, Darkglass B3K Overdrive, BOSS CEB-3 Chorus and SansAmp Tech 21 Bass Driver D.I. V.2 (EQ flat). Song info https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/(I%27ll... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Not necessarily 100% like the original, but for use in a cover band. This is neither a studio recording nor a tutorial video. This is to honour the composers and previous generations of musicians and to enjoy the song as it is. Yes, there are mistakes and I hope to be able to play the tune better one day :-)
