Why do you say yes when you mean no? Sometimes the answer has to do with what happened the last time you disagreed.
I call the moment after a boundary the Five-Second Verdict: how someone responds to your no, and what that response teaches you about speaking honestly next time.
In this video, I explain how repeated pressure can turn a simple preference into an apology, why agreeing can become easier than checking what you want, and how both partners can make room for a different answer.
A disappointed expression alone cannot tell you whether someone is safe. The pattern matters: can your answer stand, and does care continue when you disagree?
This lesson speaks but is not limited to dominant and submissive relationships, and to anyone who has changed an answer because they were worried about a partner's reaction.
