Bicycling Center Point Iowa's Cedar Valley Nature Trail, Hiawatha to Urbana (May 6, 2023)

Our third day of 6 days of riding in Northeast Iowa had us riding the Cedar Valley Nature Trail north of Cedar Rapids to Urbana. We used the town of Center Point as a starting point and rode south to Hiawatha and then back up to Urbana. Our day started out cloudy and cool after overnight rains, but we saw many bicyclists out riding the trail and ran into a 40+ person group ride doing the same section of the trail starting in Hiawatha. The sun started to come out towards the end of our ride as did the 20+ MPH winds from the south which made the 6-mile ride back to Center Point slower than usual. Glad we started in Center Point so we did not have to battle the wind all the way back to Hiawatha like the group ride did. We enjoyed a snack at Jam's Coffee in Urbana which is right on the trail.
