In the interview between Farihin Abdul Fattah and Nazrey Johani held in conjunction with the release of Munajat, they talked about what The Zikr had gained from the production and recording process. It was not simply about producing an album but also about the experience and lessons they gained along the way. Farihin also explained an interesting point about entertainment from an Islamic perspective. To him, entertainment in Islam is not something that is completely forbidden. The idea is that it should “to entertain and to educate”. People are allowed to enjoy themselves but at the same time, the entertainment should carry a good message and not cause them to become neglect their religious duties. In other words, Islam does not prohibit people from enjoying entertainment. What matters is that there are boundaries and that enjoyment does not cause a person to become neglect their responsibilities, particularly their obligations towards worship.
