The rain stopped right before the start of round 1 of the IMSA Esports Global Championship at Road Atlanta – and half the grid gambled on slicks on a still-wet track. In a championship where almost every driver is above 10,000 iRating, one tire call can make or break your entire race. Starting from P13 in the MOUZ BMW together with my teammate Moritz, we played it safe on wets. What followed was pure chaos: cars spinning everywhere, a soaking wet pitlane, a GTP sending it up the inside, and a long hunt through the field in a car that's quick in the corners but slow on the straights.
