“I Was Broken” - Megan Simmonds Reveals Why She Ended Her Season in Tears

Megan Simmonds enjoyed one of the strongest seasons of her career in 2026, but it ended with tears. The Jamaican Olympic medallist opens up about the emotions that overwhelmed her following her final race at Athlos, admitting she was devastated because she believed she was capable of running 12.3 this season. Simmonds reflects on a year that saw her change training camps, win her first Diamond League race in Rome, claim Commonwealth Games silver and finish third in the Diamond League Final — while feeling fitter than she has ever been. “It’s there. I know it’s there. I feel it. I see it.” In this candid conversation, Simmonds discusses the mindset behind her resurgence, why falling short hurt so much, and why she believes there is still much more to come. #MeganSimmonds #Jamaica #TrackAndField #Athletics #100mHurdles #MrAnalyst
