The world is changing. The job market is tough, AI is reshaping the way we work, and young people are facing an increasingly uncertain future. But something else is happening, too. More and more people are choosing to take matters into their own hands, build something of their own, and chase the ideas they believe in. We want to inspire more people to take that leap. Welcome to our series, where we document what it’s really like to build a startup from scratch in Oslo, Norway. We’ll share the entire journey: what we do, how we do it, finding investors and customers, the wins, the setbacks, and everything in between. No highlight reel. Just the real process of building something from the ground up. We are Tidepoint, an Oslo-based startup building quantitative models to estimate salmon supply in aquaculture. Think Palantir and Bloomberg, but for aquaculture. Endre and I met during our internship at the Norwegian Oil Fund. Just two days after the internship ended, we decided to start building Tidepoint. Now, we’re figuring it out as we go. This is just the beginning. We’ll do our best to share as much as possible along the way, in the hope that our journey inspires others to start something of their own. If you’ve ever thought about starting something, this series is for you. Welcome to Tidepoint. This is where the journey begins.
