We arrived early at De Haar Castle in Haarzuilens — one of the most remarkable castles in the Netherlands — while the paths were still empty and the first light was falling across the moat. This slow, cinematic walk takes you from the gardens and entrance gates into the Main Hall, the Library, the Ballroom, the private bedrooms, the guest rooms and the working spaces below stairs. Along the way, small stories reveal how life once looked here — from aristocratic traditions and famous guests to servants' bells and the practical side of running such an extraordinary house. After the castle, we return outside for a long, quiet walk through the park, along the water and the shaded paths surrounding De Haar. This is not simply a tour of a castle.
