Not the Sun

Can you really love something you're trying to own? Birds don't testify. Wolves don't confess. The sun doesn't sign contracts. So why do we turn love into rules, locks, and ownership? "Not the Sun" follows a fragile man with a borrowed crown who couldn't hold love, so he burned it down, then wrote his heartbreak into law and called it virtue. Set against him is everything in nature that shares freely: the tide, the wind, the stars that don't lose their glow when they share the night. The video is in the style of hand-animated, a cyanotype, the old sun-printed blueprint process. Night scenes follow the crowned man as he locks the doors, and each time the song turns to the sky, the screen floods with light like a print developing. Is love something we can own, or only something we can share? Share this with someone who needs the reminder that love's too big to belong isolated.
