Fluffy First Upper Yough Release (Ian's PFD) | Shred Diaries #32

This was the first scheduled release of the season and Colby and I convinced Ian to join us. We thought it would be a bit lower, but when we put on, it was 2.5. Good thing Ian didn't really know what that meant, but it was also the highest that I had ever paddled the Upper Yough. It was a little bit cold but we had a fantastic day. Ian crushed it, especially considering that this was much harder than anything else he had paddled before. He did swim at National but that is the easiest swim on the river and not too unexpected. This was also my first time paddling some harder whitewater in my new Antix 2.0 and I couldn't have been more stoked. Never once did I backender unintentionally and I felt confident in the boat all day long. Even threw a freewheel at National which was sick.
