Cottonwood Long Langstroth Hive

This is a 30 frame long langstroth hive made with Texas cottonwood on the exterior. The main box is made from 2x12 cottonwood and joined with half-laps. The lid is also from rough cut cottonwood 1x4 to accommodate the sugar shims. It has 1inch of foam insulation built into the lid and covered in aluminum flashing. The cover boards and shims are pine along with the pine plywood divider boards (two dividers). While the legs are pine the bottom is coated in epoxy to minimize moisture wicking into the end grain of the legs. See our website for additional pictures and contact information. rpbeeworks.com
