Nipping a Cat in the Butt

The plaintiff says she hired the defendant, an exterminator, who nearly killed her cat with the poison he used. Her cat ate some of the bait and was near death when she rushed it to the vet. She’s suing for vet bills. The defendant says the poison is designed for mice, not cats, and blames the situation on the cat possibly eating a poisoned mouse. He insists he did his job properly.
