🌅 SABBATH WORSHIP | August 22, 2026 "Grounded in the Bible, Focused on Mission" with Elder Olutayo Shokunbi (Personal Ministries Department) "Go therefore and teach all nations... and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." — Matthew 28:19–20, KJV Two questions frame today's message: Am I rooted deep enough in God's Word? And am I sent out far enough into His mission? Elder Shokunbi walks us through the Great Commission and two believers who lived it out: 🌾 Paul — grounded first, sent second. Before he preached to the nations, he withdrew to Arabia to be established in the Word (Gal. 1:15-17). Then mission became a holy necessity he couldn't lay down: "Woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" (1 Cor. 9:16) 🌾 Lydia of Thyatira — a hearer who became a harvester. Her heart was opened by the Word, she was baptized with her household, and her home became a church (Acts 16:13-15, 40). The message is clear: making disciples isn't the pastor's job or the elder's job alone — it's every believer's business. And it starts with two pillars: being grounded in the Bible and focused on mission. Grounding without mission produces knowledge without fruit.
