A Day At Ooka Supermarket, Maui

A day at Ooka Supermarket on the island of Maui. Brian Koyanagi, a coworker of mine, recorded this video on January 22, 1986. Ooka's was the main supermarket for the entire island, and at one point sold the most SPAM worldwide (Hormel sent a 40-foot shipping container loaded with SPAM as a thank you at one time - I unloaded it). For anyone who lived on Maui at the time, this is a very rare and nostalgic look at the good old days. The store closed in the early 2000's when Kmart and Costco wiped out all the local mom and pop stores. Maui was never the same. This video only was only given to a handful of employees on VHS tape at the time, and I'm sure I'm the only one who has a digital copy. Ooka Supermarket FTW! Enjoy :)
