Join us as we visit Fátima, Portugal, one of the world's most important Catholic pilgrimage destinations and one of Portugal's most visited attractions. In this respectful walking tour we explore the incredible Sanctuary of Fátima, beginning at the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fátima, before visiting the Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Chapel of the Apparitions, the towering High Cross, and the Statue of Pope John Paul II. One of the most fascinating moments of our visit comes during a guided tour with a nun, where we discover the incredible story behind the bullet from the 1981 assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II—a bullet he later gifted to Fátima, where it now forms part of the crown of Our Lady of Fátima. We finish our visit inside the breathtaking Basilica of the Holy Trinity, one of the largest Catholic churches in the world, capable of seating over 8,000 worshippers. Throughout our visit we remain respectful of those who have travelled from around the world to pray and worship, keeping our commentary to a minimum while allowing you to experience the peaceful atmosphere of this remarkable place.
