Two trains at Cumberland Street, New Westminster, BC

On March 11th, 2023, I spent the late morning at Cumberland Street, where I caught a couple of trains. The first train I caught was the northbound morning Amtrak Cascades train, where we see an NPCU in the lead and a Siemens SC-44 Charger on the rear making the final leg of the journey to Vancouver’s Pacific Central Station from Seattle’s King Street Station. The Horizon coaches were removed from service in March 2025. My second catch of the day was a northbound CN intermodal, featuring the usual CN GEVOs on the head end bound for CN’s Main Yard in Vancouver, where the intermodal would eventually be taken to the Port of Vancouver along the waterfront.
