10/11/2026 Orthros&Divine Liturgy- Sunday in Honor of the Holy Fathers of the 7th Ecumenical Council

Apologies: the first 30 minutes of Orthros did not Livestream. Readings- Epistle 2 Cor. 11:31 – 12:9; Gospel (Fourth Sunday of Luke) Lk. 8:5 – 15 (parable of Sower and Seeds) Synaxarion from the Menaion. On October 11, we commemorate the holy Apostle Philip, one of the seven Deacons. On this day we commemorate our devout father Theophanes the Confessor, brother of Saint Theodore the Branded. On this day we commemorate the holy Martyrs Zenaida and Philonilla the sisters. On this day we commemorate the holy Patriarchs of Constantinople Nektarios, Arsakios and Sisinios. On this day we also observe the memory of the holy and blessed Fathers who convened in Nicea for a second time, under the Orthodox and Christ-loving emperors Constantine and Irene, against those who in an impious, uneducated, and thoughtless manner said that the Church of God practiced idolatry and who had taken down the august and holy icons." Prayer from GOA Y2AM: "LORD JESUS CHRIST, AS WE BEGIN THIS NEW WEEK, SOFTEN THE SOIL OF OUR HEARTS SO YOUR WORD MAY TAKE DEEP ROOT WITHIN US. PROTECT US FROM DISTRACTION, STRENGTHEN US WHEN OUR FAITH IS TESTED, AND HELP US BEAR FRUIT THROUGH LOVE, MERCY, AND COURAGE. MMAY OUR LIVES BECOME LIVING ICONS OF YOUR PRESENCE IN THE WORLD. AMEN."
