Class Business Live: Personal Brand, Building a Team and What an Awards Night Taught Me About Con...

It's half past nine on a Saturday evening, I'm in black tie behind a lectern on a stage in Birmingham, and I'm about to say "and the winner is." In this episode I take you through my weekend at Class Business Live, hosted by Krissy Monaghan, from the inspiring morning talks, to the mastermind table I hosted, to judging and presenting at the awards, to dancing the night away. You'll hear what Matt Hall, Enfys Maloney, Rose Gibson and Jo Simpson shared on stage, the story from a dance school that changed how I think about what we're really preparing young people for, and the questions that came up around my mastermind table about building a team you don't have to micromanage. And I'll share what the whole weekend showed me about confidence, and why I think it's a little nudge to put yourself forward for an award. In this episode: • Why personal brand matters more than ever, and what Daniel Priestley says about making things 20 times harder for yourself • Becoming known in your niche, for the right things • The ballerina story that changed how I think about my young people at MTA • Why knowing your numbers gives you the freedom to make confident decisions • Building a team you don't have to micromanage: incentives, training, an operations manager and an ideal team member avatar • Core values, your moral compass, and why it's better to have a gap than a gap filled with somebody who's not fit for the job • What it's like to judge business awards, and what a winning entry looks like • How awards, community and collaboration over competition connect to confidence If you'd like to feel more confident speaking about your work, I'm opening four spots on my 1:1 programme, Reclaim Your Voice, and hosting a webinar on Monday 26th October at 7pm to talk you through it. Thank you to Krissy Monaghan and the whole Class Business Live team. And if you're thinking about awards, a big thank you to Emma Hewitt, an awards strategist, who looked after the judges beautifully.
