luna clara!
Ausente estás…
de ti no llega mensaje.
Languidecen mis ojos,
languidece mi corazón.
El viento de Levante,
que al alba viene de tu tierra,
me trae noticias tuyas.

Yaman lahou is part of Sephardica's Andalusian music repertoire.
A song of absence and longing. The beloved is far away, and the wind, arriving at dawn from his land, is the one that brings news of him:
“Wonder of my soul,
green branch of myrtle,
bright moon!
You are far away…
no message comes from you.
My eyes languish,
my heart languishes.
The east wind,
coming at dawn from your land,
brings me news of you.
The garden of my desires
trembles
and releases its fragrance.”
We recorded Yaman lahou in the Arab Baths of Segura de la Sierra (Jaén, Spain), a place where stone, water and silence still preserve the memory of Al-Andalus.
