In this video I tackle one of the steepest ascents of my life with a full pack on up to the mighty Rush Lake. On paper the mileage should have only amounted to a half day's worth of trekking, but since the trail was so steep it took me and my guide Kazim all day to reach the lake. My guide Kazim actually got altitude sickness upon our arrival to the lake, if that puts into perspective just how quick you are climbing up from the valley floor. The next morning I woke up pretty sore from a rather nice sleep from an elevation higher than I'm used to. Luckily for me the ascent to Rush Lake turned out to be most of the work in reaching the summit of Rush Peak. After a mile of walking and a simple walk up to the summit I was greeted with clear skies and otherworldly views all to myself. The adventure doesn't end here, stay tuned for the finale of this trek as I cross an insane glacier during sunset and get caught hiking in the dark. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the scenes from this little slice of heaven in the Northern Areas of Pakistan! 🇵🇰
