No Matter How Much You Have Sinned, Allah Can Forgive You | Mufti Menk

No matter how much you have sinned, never believe that you are beyond the mercy of Allah. Maybe you have made mistakes that nobody knows about. Maybe you have returned to the same sin again and again. Maybe guilt has convinced you that Allah will never forgive you. But Allah tells us: “Do not despair of the mercy of Allah.” — Qur’an 39:53 This powerful Islamic reminder is about Tawbah, sincere repentance, Allah’s forgiveness, and finding the courage to return to Him no matter how far you believe you have fallen. Your past does not have to define your future. Allah knows every mistake you have made, every weakness you struggle with, every tear you have hidden, and every sincere attempt you make to return to Him. If you have fallen into sin, return to Allah. If you have neglected your Salah, begin again. If your heart feels distant from Allah, call upon Him again. If you have repented before and fallen again, do not allow despair to stop you from sincerely repenting again. Allah says: “And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” — Qur’an 4:110 This reminder also reflects on Qur’an 3:135 and Qur’an 25:70, reminding us that sincere repentance should lead to faith, change, and righteous actions. Listen until the end and take a moment to reflect on your relationship with Allah. You may not be able to change yesterday, but by Allah’s permission, you can change the direction of your life today.
