St. Michael Thorn Wind Orchestra launched a project to address this and challenged several renowned Dutch symphonic composers to write for wind orchestra. The first result came from Marijn Simons, who completed his first work for large wind band, Max Havelaar, in early 2022. He drew inspiration for this symphonic poem from the 1863 novel of the same name by Multatuli (Eduard Douwes Dekker). #MarijnSimons #WindOrchestra #harmoniethorn#StMichaelThorn #classicalmusic #classicalmusiclover #windband #IvanMeylemans #symphonicwinds
